“For we who have believed do enter that rest,” (Hebrews 4:3).
The Word of God has much to say about the importance of faith, its laws, and how to receive His promises, including bodily healing.
So how do we know if we are believing the Word or a promise of God in our hearts?
Let’s look to the Word alone for our answer.
We have entered His rest (Hebrews 4:3).
We know are are in heart-believing faith when we’ve entered His rest and become so filled with His peace and joy despite what our present circumstance looks like in the natural.
Why? Because we know what His Word says about it, have chosen to take Him for it, know when we pray we are doing so according to His will, and have embraced what He’s said alone in our hearts like a little child (Matthew 18:1-4).
Therefore, we are not fretting, toiling, working, doing good works, or trying to earn in any way what Jesus has already toiled, worked, and performed for us through HIS finished work (Isaiah 52-53, etc.) that we may receive (e.g., His healing promises) by grace through faith not of works, a FREE gift of God, lest anyone should boast.
“Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you BELIEVE in Him whom He sent,” (John 6:28-29).
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh…hence the rest. Only believe that Jesus finished the work of the Father FOR us, and our part is to only believe, THEN we may work the works of God by faith. My gosh I can’t love this enough!
For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34).
We know if we are in heart-believing faith in a promise of God because our mouths just can’t help but speak what His report alone says about the matter and be filled with His praises.
For instance, “By His stripes, I was healed,” (1 Peter 2:24). Hallelujah! Jesus has already healed me. Thank You, Lord, for doing the work of carrying and bearing sickness for me that I don’t have to! For the Cross. For rising again, finishing Your work, and resting, that I too may rest. Best Savior ever!”
Our cup runneth over with joy in the knowledge of His love and goodness toward us!
When we believe from the heart, we also call those things that be not as if they already are (Romans 4) AKA agreeing with God’s Word…(cause our heart can’t help itself).
We can either plant the Word into our hearts by hearing it then saying what He says or plant the world into our hearts by hearing and saying what the enemy says – which is what most of the world does. Warning, warning…Eyes off people. Eyes on Jesus alone!
On that note, it is possible to turn confessing scripture into works if we don’t understand why we do it. The Lord made the reason simple: “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God,” (Romans 10:17).
“The seed is the Word of God,” (Luke 8:11).
We confess the Word to sow faith into our hearts, then the living and active Word begins to grow ITSELF. Hallelujah! The importance is sowing it.
And what happens when we sow a seed? It grows.
And in the case of sowing the Word, we are growing faith in our hearts. The more we hear and keep hearing it, and saying what He says, the more faith we are sowing. The more life we are giving those Word seeds the more they grow into MIGHTY shield of faith (Psalm 91):
“Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one,” (Ephesians 6:16).
Thus, this is what God meant by putting on the full armor of God. We can’t really put it on if we don’t know how to do it His way! This is how we put on faith piece. Hallelujah!
Sowing faith in the heart by the Word also renews our minds-super important to win the battleground of the mind!

Wow! Praise God! To be seen with spiritual eyes: The Word sown into a heart growing into a faith shield that NO fiery dart of the evil one’s deception can penetrate it and cause doubt, unbelief, or wavering from His Word!
Jesus taught is in the Parable of the Sower that His Word is a seed and our hearts are the soil.

Look at that shield of faith now! Someone has taken good care of what they’ve been putting into their heart and speaking from their mouths!
Enter His rest today, find out what His Word says about your circumstances, and sow His truth about them. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith,” (1 John 5:4).
We are called to victory because of Jesus, not being defeated by the enemy’s attacks.
To guard our hearts, and therefore our faith, these words from the Lord are also important to heed…
2 Corinthians 6:14-17
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”
Therefore
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
P.S. Sowing His Word into the soil of our hearts is not works. It’s simply following the Word’s instructions (2 Timothy 3:16-17) on how to have unwavering, heart-believing faith!
