What’s Up With Paul’s Peepers (Eyes)? [excerpt from my book]

“You know it was because of an infirmity of the flesh that I preached the gospel to you at first, and though my condition was a trial to you, you did not scorn or despise me, but received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus.”
~ Galatians 4:13-14

Some deceived by the enemy into believing that Paul’s thorn was a sickness God refused to heal him from have connected it with Galatians 4:15 to say the condition in question was a disease or disorder of his eyes [peepers]. Let’s read it now.

For I [Paul] bear you witness that, if possible, you would have plucked out your eyes and given them to me.
Galatians 4:15

With understanding that Christ’s finished work discredits the thorn-eye disease connection, I sought the Lord for help and wisdom in refuting it through the Word “to always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks us a reason for the hope that is in us,” (1 Peter 3:15; James 1:5). Soon after, I heard the Holy Spirit say to me, “Begin by looking at this matter in a chronological Bible.” I wasn’t disappointed.
