Sometimes I hear, even Christians, namedropping, boasting in who they know, who their connections are and what their fancy titles are. I love them, but I just don’t care who they know or who they’re connected with (at all).
No, it’s Who they know – big W.
And are they walking with Him? And isn’t He the best ever?
If you want to boast about your connections, the “big” ministries who know you, or that you know people who rake in millions, you’re telling the wrong child of God.
Yawn city. Not impressed. *head bobbing because you’re putting me to sleep*
The things of this world have grown strangely dim (as the hymn reminds us it would) when up against knowing Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Living God. The Word says in Jeremiah 17:5, “Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes the arm of flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD.”
God wants His children to be successful and to bless the work of our hands, but what does that have to do with who we know? Nothing!
For His Word says He’s our Father, Promoter, Provider, Keeper, Deliverer, Savior, Blesser, Refuge, the One who gives us the power to get wealth and surrounds us with favor as with a shield.
Let us glory in God alone!
Psalm 34:2-9
I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord, and He answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard Him;
He saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him,
and He delivers them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.
Fear the Lord, you His holy people,
for those who fear Him lack nothing.
