If you’re gonna dance before the Lord, do it with all your might

source unknown

Saw this quote and loved it. Wish I knew who wrote it so I could credit them.

“Then David danced before the Lord with all his might,” (2 Samuel 6:14).

I’m a passionate person. Sometimes people have wrongly and presumptuously mistook that passion as attention seeking or hungry instead of what it really was. Doing things with a pure heart before God is super important to me as I love Him so much!

“So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet,” (2 Samuel 6:15).

Doesn’t Almighty God, our Father Creator, deserve nothing less than our all?

Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart,” (2 Samuel 6:16).

There will always be people like Michal around, including in the church, who despise others in their hearts for their life, freedom, fire, and passion.

Ignore them, pity them, pray for them, BUT do NOT allow them to rob you of your God given passion and fire. Do NOT allow the things that are not in someone else’s comfort zone to shape and mold you into their image. No, continually seek the Lord to be molded into THE image bearer for Him He made YOU to be.

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life,” (2 Corinthians 3:5-6).

If we are IN Christ, we know where our sufficiency comes from – Him alone. Have eyes to see and ears to hear when the enemy is trying to use someone to place the thumb of the law on you – including man-made laws and rules that have nothing to do with the Word of God.

For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life…meaning in context of this post…the enemy tries to “kill” who you were created to be to rob you of your purposes in life using not-of-God laws and rules. Pray for God’s protection from these things and people being used by satan in this manner, even inside the church.

That Jezebel spirit is sneaky but widespread!

P.S. I have seriously asked the Lord for a house with an entire dance room with proper flooring, so I may worship and dance before Him with all my might.

Another book idea I have. We don’t make an entire doctine out of being a misfit of course, but this will minister to those who’ve been rejected and hurt in the church. Jesus help me get all the words You’ve given me down.
