If I die today, will I go to heaven? What must I do to be saved?

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me,” (Revelations 3:20).

ADMIT THAT YOU’RE A SINNER

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. – Romans 3:23 NKJV

We may think, “Well, I’m not as bad as so and so,” but we are not comparing ourselves to one another but instead to the holiness of God and His righteous standards.

In 2002, I saw my sinfulness the way God did and admitted I was a sinner.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 6:23 NKJV

The Bible makes is clear that sin must be paid for one way or another. Those who reject Jesus, the Son of God, and don’t accept His payment on their behalf will one day pay for those sins themselves with their eternal death, forever separated from God and those they love who did choose the free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ.

BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS, WAS BURIED, AND THAT GOD RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD

If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. – Romans 10:9-10 NKJV

Declare before God from your heart: I confess Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart God has raised Him from the dead.

CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD

For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. – Romans 10:13 NKJV

Declare before God: I call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and now I am forever saved and have eternal life with God the Father through Jesus Christ.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV

If you just made that declaration of faith from the heart in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, you’ve just encountered the grace of God and have been saved through faith.

You didn’t have to do anything to earn your salvation, your eternal life with God the Father in heaven. It was a free gift, so no one can say they made their own way, but Jesus Christ made the way for them. Isn’t that amazingly beautiful?

If you prayed through this prayer, I’d LOVE to hear from you today as you are my new sister or brother in Christ.

  1. The “Roman road” as the group of Scriptures you used from are often called, are an excellent introduction to the good news of salvation in Christ Jesus. In their holy fullness they are sufficient. As we know, the road to heaven is not Roman nor of humanity but of God’s very nature.

GOD’S recipe for salvation in the Bible as a whole often includes more of the ingredient of repentance than many spiritual food preparers decide to include in the meal. To honestly from the heart confess Christ Jesus as LORD with the full intention of its meaning is a door opener in the SPIRIT. A Lord:- the owner, possessor, and disposer of a thing. May we all prepare the full recipe both for ourselves and for our hearers/readers so that we are able to receive from the fullness of GOD’s nature and corporate with its manifestation as in heaven so on earth. May GOD grant us a regular lifestyle and heart of repentance as we cooperate with that grace that appears to all men. For if we miss this element/ingredient of repentance the Scripture makes clear our end. May everyone who is hungry “eat the scroll” as some of the former prophets did and receive the fullest measure possible.

    1. Thank you, Larry. I believe the Holy Spirit helps fills things in too. Praise Him! Like when I got saved. I know I was definitely born again, was radically changed in the heart, eyes open, etc.

And amen! May we walk the narrow path that leads to life and may the ways of this world be a stench in our nostrils, esp in these evil times. God bless.
