“Now the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded. And he went out to meet Asa, and said to him: “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. For a long time Israel has been without the true God, without a teaching priest, and without law; but when in their trouble they turned to the Lord God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them. And in those times there was no peace to the one who went out, nor to the one who came in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands,” (2 Chronicles 15:1-5).

I wrapped up Part 1 of this teaching saying, “So part 2 of this will talk about how the Lord used 2 Chronicles to remind me that He’s not dealing with us under the “blessings and cursings” Old Covenant law, YET, we see Him give His people MIGHTY deliverances from their enemies under it. And how this truth affects the powers of our prayers of faith and standing with God today.”

The Word says, “His sheep hear His voice,” and as I was reading 2 Chronicles 15, the Lord highlighted the words I bolded above, “The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you,” then brought this verse to my remembrance:

“For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you,” (Isaiah 54:10).

This verse is a prophecy about the coming covenant that would be possible through Jesus Christ. If you look it up, there are hundreds of Messianic prophecies that foretold of His birth, life, death, and resurrection.

A young in the Lord believer or someone who doesn’t understand they are a New Covenant believer may read those verses and become confused, even fearful, wondering, “Oh no, have I done something to forsake the Lord, so He will forsake me?”

Which is it? Does He forsake His children today if they forsake Him? Or is it that His kindness and peace are never removed from us and that He has mercy on us because we are His children?

2 Chronicles is speaking of the Old Testament children of Israel who were under a different covenant with the Lord – one they accepted and agreed to with their own free will. This covenant was a “blessings and cursings” based covenant with Him. When they agreed to the covenant, they agreed to be blessed for obeying Him and cursed for disobeying Him.

As New Covenant believers, we are no longer under the blessings and cursings old covenant also known as the law.

So, these words from 2 Chron 15 do not apply to born-again believers today, “The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.”

As New Covenant believers, we are purchased by the very blood of Jesus Christ. Upon confession of faith in Jesus and what He did for us, not by anything we do or don’t do, we are instantaneously born again (His Holy Spirit indwells us), spiritually translated into His body, thus our spirits are also seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. This is unchangeable and unbreakable.

Through a covenant sealed by the most powerful thing in the universe – the blood of Jesus – NOTHING a child of God does or doesn’t do can cause the Lord to turn from him/her or forsake him/her. He lives in us and us in Him.

You are His child, no longer having to fret as they did under the Old Covenant. Through Jesus Christ, God is now only at peace with you.

And because God doesn’t break the covenants He makes with man, Jesus fulfilled the law, the Old Covenant FOR us, satisfying it from beginning to end, so that we are not justified by it but by faith ALONE in Jesus Christ.

How 2 Chronicles inspired me regarding the elections? I’m getting there. There’s just so much to say about being in covenant with God, and I don’t tend to be one who is terse with my writing. ❤

Because today, the new currency under the New Covenant is mercy, and my ONLY standing in the eyes of God is His righteousness. For I am perfected forever, clothed in Christ.

This forever forgiven, righteous IN Christ standing affects how we are able to pray today:

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need,” (Hebrews 4:16).

This is important right now and how we are praying for America, President Trump, and the elections as covenant children of God.

I’ve heard many believers begging God for mercy when His Word says we can come boldly that we may obtain mercy and find grace. The mercy and grace are there waiting for us to receive it by faith, and our heavenly Father wants us to BOLDLY ask Him for it.

On that note, I’ve been “guilty” of saying “I beg you God,” in times of great anguish at my suffering or the suffering of a loved one. So I get it. But when I came to by senses, I realized, in my desperation, I wasn’t praying in line with my covenant standing with God in Christ. I didn’t feel like the Lord asked me to repent about it either. Nor any conviction. Only that I should pray better, bolder prayers based on the better covenant I’m ACTUALLY in. Glory to the Lamb of God who was slain to make this possible!

In 2 Chronicles 13, we read that King Abijah and King Jeroboam were about to go to war – Abijah with his 400,000 men, and Jeroboam with his 800,000 men.

This is so important to see regarding covenants with the Lord!

What I noticed is that how King Abijah spoke, prayed, and cried out to God was in line with his knowledge and understanding of the two covenants he was in with Him:

1. “Then Abijah stood on Mount Zemaraim, which is in the mountains of Ephraim, and said, “Hear me, Jeroboam and all Israel: Should you not know that the Lord God of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt?” (2 Chron 13:5)
2. The Law (or Old Covenant).

So, King Abijah could stand before the Lord in faith based on the mentioned covenant of salt because he was a descendant of King David. King Jeroboam could not because he was not a descendant of David.

King Abijah could also stand before the Lord in faith based on the Old Covenant law – blessings for obedience and cursings and being forsaken for disobedience.

Keeping the two covenants in mind, Abijah continues speaking to Jeroboam and all Israel,

“And now you think to withstand the kingdom of the Lord, which is in the hand of the sons of David [via that salt covenant]; and you are a great multitude [800,000 men], and with you are the gold calves which Jeroboam made for you as gods. Have you not cast out the priests of the Lord, the sons of Aaron, and the Levites, and made for yourselves priests, like the peoples of other lands, so that whoever comes to consecrate himself with a young bull and seven rams may be a priest of things that are not gods? [Jeroboam and his people forsook the Lord]

But as for us [Abijah and his people], the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the priests who minister to the Lord are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites attend to their duties. And they burn to the Lord every morning and every evening burnt sacrifices and sweet incense; they also set the showbread in order on the pure gold table, and the lampstand of gold with its lamps to burn every evening; for we keep the command of the Lord our God, but you have forsaken Him.

Now look, God Himself is with us as our head, and His priests with sounding trumpets to sound the alarm against you. O children of Israel, do not fight against the Lord God of your fathers, for you shall not prosper!” (2 Chronicles 13:8-12).

Wow, Lord! Your Word is so awesome because it is You (John 1:1).

I love the boldness of Abijah’s prayers because he understood the power of a covenant with the Lord who CANNOT break His Word to us.

Behold, VICTORY for Abijah based on being in covenant and honoring his terms of it with the Lord:

“But Jeroboam [who forsook the Lord under the law] caused an ambush to go around behind them; so they were in front of Judah [Abijah and his men], and the ambush was behind them. And when Judah looked around, to their surprise the battle line was at both front and rear; and they cried out to the Lord, and the priests sounded the trumpets. Then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as the men of Judah shouted, it happened that God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. And the children of Israel fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hand. Then Abijah and his people struck them with a great slaughter; so five hundred thousand choice men of Israel fell slain. Thus the children of Israel were subdued at that time; and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the Lord God of their fathers,” (2 Chron 13:13-18).

So, now, I too pray in line with the covenant I have with God through the blood of Jesus Christ, with Him as my Mediator.

“But now He (Jesus) has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises,” (Hebrews 8:6).

As His covenant child, forever in right standing with Him by the blood of Jesus Christ, I pray with that understanding. BOLDLY because Jesus also forever purchased peace with God for me (Isaiah 54:10). I don’t have to pray as Abijah did – declaring that I haven’t forsaken Him. That’s not how the New Covenant works.

Our prayers of petition for America, President Trump, and our rescue can be BOLD and filled with the knowledge of the covenant we are in with Him. And that the new currency is mercy.

I’ve been praying along in agreement with brother, Dutch Sheets, for America, President Trump’s victory, etc., and he has this super cool picture on his mantle that reads, “MERCY – OUR NEW CURRENCY.”

Because of Jesus, God doesn’t want America destroyed, He wants it saved! So, I pray likewise in line with our new and better covenant.

Your will be done of earth as it is in heaven, Lord. There’s no theft in heaven – think voter fraud. President Trump won, Lord. Make a way for justice for him and America for that is Your will.

There’s no abortion in heaven – think a Biden administration with those who bloodthirst for the unborn all 9 months of pregnancy. etc etc etc. This is not God’s will.

Lord our God, show us places we’ve chosen to give place to the devil and tolerated Jezebel, that have given that snake a way to operate in our land. Show us how to take it back, Lord, through prayer, spiritual warfare, and acting on our faith with our votes, and/or refusing indoctrination in our schools.

Father, show us the warfare prayers we must pray as Your ecclesia – legislative and governing body in the earth – to destroy the works of the devil we’ve allowed. And boy have we allowed much, Lord. Show us where we need to turn from our wicked ways, so the enemy doesn’t have legal permission to work and bring destruction.

Father, we come boldly to Your throne of grace for the mercy available to us for allowing millions upon millions of babies to be slaughtered in our land for the every sort of demonic principality and power of darkness to inhabit and set up strongholds over. Have mercy, God, for You are mercy!

Lord, we are surrounded on every side, but they are like nothing in Your sight. Defeat our enemies, Lord. Expose every single one involved in trying to steal this election and bring them to justice. Set President Trump in his rightful place as the president of his second term over America now for You are a just God who hates theft, lying, and the oppression of Your people. Let there be no escape from justice for those who’ve committed treason against America and who’ve come against President Trump so vilely.

There must be justice. This we know deep in our spirits, Lord. There must be justice. Let it be so, Lord. Let it be so before the eyes of the watching world, so that they may know that You are the Lord in Jesus’ name, amen.

P.S. Father, we are tired and battle weary. Comfort Your children, refresh us, and fill us with us with your peace that passes understanding. Show us how to pray through this every step of the way. We praise You and love You! Hallelujah to the Lion of Judah!

“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,” (Jeremiah 31:31).

“Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you,” (Luke 22:20).

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from (C)the law of sin and death,” (Romans 8:2).
