Many of today’s Christians STILL don’t understand they are New Covenant believers | A teaching inspired in light of the elections | Part 1: A look at Job

How do we know that many of today’s Christians don’t understand they are New Covenant believers? Because far too many times I’ve heard them say things like, “I’m just like Job,” or, “I think God is dealing with me like He did Job.”

For the scriptural record. Anyone who still believes this “Job” lie: It is IMPOSSIBLE for a New Covenant believer to be just like Job.

To say a New Covenant believer can be “just like Job,” or think they are “going through something similar to Job by the hand of God,” is an insult to Jesus, His sacrifice, His blood, and standing as our Mediator and Advocate.

Father, help Your kids to stop saying things like this. It’s spreading misinformation against Him. It’s unscriptural and also greatly misrepresents the Namesake of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and all He did for us.

Job predated the Old Covenant and did not have Jesus Christ as His Mediator nor His blood to defend him.

Which is why in Job 9, he cries out for a Mediator but there is none. That’s why you’ve heard people preach, “Job is the question. Jesus is the answer.”

We already have the answer to what Job needed when he cried out to God. Let’s look at the “for the scriptural record” proofs in the Book of Job:

“For He is not a man, as I am, that I may answer Him, And that we should go to court together. Nor is there any mediator between us,” (Job 9:32-33).

“Yes, his soul draws near the Pit, and his life to the executioners. “If there is a messenger for him, a mediator, one among a thousand, to show man His uprightness, Then He is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the Pit; I have found a ransom,” (Job 33:22-24).

There you have it.

We are New Covenant believers with the very Mediator the Holy Spirit inspired Job to cry out for.

As His children, we have Jesus, THE Mediator, who has made us the VERY righteousness of God IN Him.

So, NO! For the love of our Holy God and His precious Namesake! Children of God, you are not like Job!

For the Lord’s sake, please never say so again. It’s cruel towards Jesus and the cruelty He went through for YOU to become your Mediator, that Ransom Job didn’t have but knew he needed (by the Spirit).

God can’t deal with you as in Job’s time because of Jesus. Receive it by faith, enter His rest and peace, and be healed.

After Job’s time, the prophet Isaiah prophesied these words regarding the finished work of Jesus Christ and what the New Covenant would be like for those blessed enough to live under it:

“For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you,” (Isaiah 54:10)
.

And how did the election chaos inspire me to write about Job, you might be wondering?

Because, as God’s children, with our All powerful Mediator, Jesus Christ, and His blood, we have everything Job needed – a Savior who was willing to become our Ransom.

Aw. Lord Jesus. You are precious to us. And because of Jesus, according to Isaiah 54:10:

  • God’s kindness is incapable of departing from us.
  • We are in a new covenant of PEACE that can’t be removed. So God is only at peace with us despite ourselves because we are IN Christ – part of the very body of His Son. He’s not mad at us nor wanting to smite us. We are sealed in the blood of His Son and are also His sons and daughters.
  • God has mercy on us because of Jesus.

Praise You, Lord God, who is worthy to receive all blessing and glory and honor and power forever!

Meaning, we can boldly ask and pray in faith for Him to deliver us from every evil as His Word says. Including this stolen election and all it could bring – evil, illegitimate leaders – should it actually come to pass – which I am disbelieving God for and believing His Word because we are His New Covenant children ONLY at peace with our Father.

And, as the book of Job says, with a Mediator who makes this possible: “Then He is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the Pit; I have found a Ransom,” (Job 33:22-24).

This teaching was inspired by Spirit as I was reading 2 Chronicles believe it or not. I love to talk to the Lord as I am reading the Word, and He talks back. As a pastor recently preached, “Idols are mute, but our God still speaks today.” Hallelujah!

So part 2 of this will talk about how the Lord used 2 Chronicles to remind me that He’s not dealing with us under the “blessings and cursings” Old Covenant, YET, we see Him give His people MIGHTY deliverances from their enemies under it. And how this truth affects the powers of our prayers of faith and standing with God today.

I will try to get to part 2 soon. Thank you.
