Let Heaven and Nature Sing! (And Indeed They Do)

“Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice.”

PSALM 96:11-12

I don’t know how I manage to miss verses like the ones you just read and forget about them until the Lord brings them back to me once more. I pray I never forget them now.

The heavens rejoice. The earth can be glad.

The sea roars. Fields and its creatures are full of joy.

And even the trees rejoice!

I say unabashedly, the first time I took my dog outside after Psalm 96:11-12 was recently highlighted to me by the Lord tears streamed down my face as I beheld the towering trees, lifting their branches like holy hands unto His throne.

They were rejoicing unto the Lord in a frequency outside of human range. All of them. It was utterly beautiful. Tears well up once again as I write this for the beauty of the Lord never fails to move me.

“Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth,” (Psalm 96:9).

How true are the words to the Christmas song, JOY TO THE WORLD, that heaven and nature do indeed sing unto the Lord and glorify Him with their voices.

Here is the first verse of JOY TO THE WORLD

Joy to the world! the Lord is come;
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare him room,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven and nature sing,
And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

O Lord Jesus, that every heart upon the earth prepare You room!

Then to further confirm His Word to me which He loves to do for His kiddos, a video appeared on my timeline entitled, “Did you know that ice can sing? – Ice sounds – singing ice.”

When I read those words, I joked, as I often do with Him, “Lord, are You trying to drown me in my own tears or what?”

The verse where He bottles my tears immediately came to my remembrance. “Ha Ha, Lord, You must be bottling them to keep me safe from drowning apparently.”

And of course, He bottles our tears because they are precious to Him as well as powerful prayers and worship unto Him.

Have a listen to nature singing unto the Lord with this amazing video that confirms His Word…

You can hear it best at the beginning of the video as towards the end, there’s background music and singing as well.

May we never lose our childlike wonder and awe of the Lord, His beauty, and the beauty of all His creation. We are surrounded by an unending chorus of worship unto God!

Wow, Lord! Just wow! You are worthy to be praised and worshiped by all the earth. Literally.

“But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out,” (Luke 19:40).

O heavens, where did I put that box of tissues?!
