You Don’t Have to Be the Devil’s Prey When You Watch and Pray

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour,” (1 Peter 5:8).

“There are times when we have been led astray & misled others by sharing belief systems that were not true. Correct us, Lord, so we will not work against You & be on the wrong side of history. We decree that the anti-Christ spirit will not have access to this nation on our watch!” – Pastor Sheets

These are important and timely words from our brother in Christ.

As children of God, we are called to be on high alert. Actively watchful of the devil’s plots, plans, and schemes against us, our family, the church, and our nation. The enemy seeks whom he may devour. The Lord doesn’t want it to be you.

Be sober [calm, disciplined] and vigilant [cautious, aware]! You don’t have to be the devil’s prey when you watch and pray.

It’s EXTREMELY important to have a humble heart in our walks with the Lord. EVERY believer has been exposed to unscriptural teachings and has had to unlearn them with the help of the Holy Spirit. Any believer who believes he/she is immune is most in danger of being deceived.

Over the past few years, the Lord has had me unlearning the unbelief taught from our very pulpits that cause His children to deny His very blood and power. I am so thankful to the Lord for helping me see and escape those traps of the enemy that were not only keeping me captive but ineffective for the kingdom of God.

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak,” (Matthew 26:41).

Lord, give us great discernment, so we have eyes to see and ears to hear in EVERY situation. Help us watch and pray. Holy Spirit, lead us into all truth and shut the mouths of lying lions in Jesus’ name, amen.

  1. This is interesting. Just this week I came upon a YouTube of Pastor Tim Sheets speaking in reference to We Win and today you led off this post with a quote from Pastor Sheets.
I am glad we have connected via blogs. I am eager to hear what Holy Spirit has to say.
    Joy and blessings!

    1. Discernment is one of the most important things believers need in these last of the last days. Deeply grieved at the level of deception that infiltrated the church. Praying for blind eyes to open in the body. It’s a humble walk we need with Him. We must seek Him and listen. It’s not His will for satan to devour us. Speak Lord, we are listening. God bless you dear sister.
